The Cooperative Preschool is a 501c3 organization (EIN: 82-0422183). All donations are tax deductible.
The Cooperative Preschool began in 1969 by a group of parents and community members. It was a little school focused on the life of the young child – a place to play, learn, grow and create relationships. It was a school that encouraged parents to be a part of their children’s education and to come together with other parents and teachers to work, laugh and learn each week. It has been exactly that place for almost 47 years.
We are so thrilled and thankful about the idea of moving up to the Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel Synagogue on Latah Street. We will remain an independent secular preschool and have new partners and friends. It is not possible for us to adequately share how kind, encouraging and open the people at the synagogue have been welcoming us to think about their land as our new home.
We had been looking for new space for over 8 months. There is so little available for a little school like ours - and honestly we were getting really worried about the future of the school. The building we are in right now is under contract. We are hoping to make it in our current location through May!
The preschool is planning to relocate to the synagogue in September 2015 but earlier if we need to. It is our plan to purchase our very own, brand new modular building and place it in the corner of the synagogue’s lovely three acres. It will be new, have bathrooms, lots of windows, be clean and be our own!!
We will not be able to accomplish this without help from our past families, friends of the preschool and support from people that care about quality, joyful, community based early childhood education. Please consider helping us make this possible. Thanks – so much.
Here's to a long and secure future for The Cooperative Preschool!
